Solano Community College Counseling Redesign Research

Under the direction of Vice President (VP) Lisa Neeley, VP of Student Services, I conducted a small research deep-dive on California Community College Counseling Redesign. This research task entailed the following:

  • Scouting current evidence-based literature on Community College Redesign Programs in California and beyond

  • Scouting evidence-based research and recommendations from non-profit organizations such as the Career Ladders Project (CLP) to research Community College Onboarding and Counseling Redesign for current and future community college students

  • Presenting research dissemination in a 1:1 meeting

  • Serving as a thought partner with the Solano Community College’s VP of Student Service to enhance the onboarding experience in connection to their student equity plan, whose focus is on Black student recruitment, achievement, and retention.
