Qualitative Educational Research Experience

As a result of my doctoral studies, I have been trained in conducting qualitative interviews, data cleaning, transcribing, iterative analysis, and research dissemination.

Backward Planning, Organization, & Project Management

I am a master backward planner with a great time management command. I enjoy leading from behind and collaborating on intimate teams. I have served as the Graduate Assistant for the Associate Dean of Educational Affairs at Stanford University — assisting with the Graduate School of Education (GSE)-wide academic and social programming. I am the lead Research Assistant (RA) working to build a Stanford-specific GSE Advising Toolkit Canvas Module for current and future Stanford graduate students.

Editorial Assistant: Teacher’s College Press — Disability, Equity, and Culture Series

Within this role, I assist the series editor in acquisitions and searching the field for scholars, authors, and working professionals producing scholarship at the intersections of disability, equity, and culture. I serve as the lead editorial assistant for a three-person editorial assistant team.

Skills:

  • Email correspondence with potential scholars and current authors to co-create working timelines for book proposal submissions

  • Upkeep Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with authors’ contact information and book proposal timelines

  • Provide general and constructive feedback on all book proposal submissions received

  • Collaborate with the series editor and editorial director to provide feedback to authors

  • Draft emails for the series editor to send to authors

  • Participate in peer mentorship for newly added editorial assistants

  • Categorize published books by topic and scholarly expertise area
